Why don鈥檛 certain celebrities have bodyguards?

I need answers on this:

I know the President of the United States is bodyguard all the time and even celebrities that are very famous like Bruce Willis, Johnny Depp, and all those famous stars have bodyguards. But why don鈥檛 athletes? I saw Ben Rothensburger in the Pittsburgh area and he was at the restaurant with his wife and people were bothering him like crazy and he wasn鈥檛 bodyguarded. Why is that? Athletes and tv reporters don鈥檛 have bodyguards it seems like. Why don鈥檛 certain celebrities have bodyguards?
because some don't feel the necessity, they probably figure they won't be recognized, and bodyguards would give the notion that someone "important" must be coming through, thus drawing more attention.... plus they're bloody expensive
famous people should not need bodyguard. It only calls people's attention (at least if the person runs any kind of risk, as a president).

If famous people had the culture of not act as if they were more special than you and me, they would never need such things and people would look at them on the street and not worry about their presence. Why don鈥檛 certain celebrities have bodyguards?
cause people do not tend to kill celebrities as much as they tend to kill people like the president and all those people u said body guards help people stay alive not keep people peace.
its all on their status and if they choose to have one or not.
