How to eat healthier at a japanese restaurant?

I'm going to a japanese steakhouse where they cook in front of you tonight. I dont eat red meat, so I'll probably be getting chicken and shrimp. Is there anyway to eat healthier? Anything I should or shouldnt eat?

Thanks. How to eat healthier at a japanese restaurant?
Get grilled chicken (yakitori) if you can, and I agree that it's healthier than shrimp. Steamed rice is better than fried rice, of course, and ease up on the soy sauce. Chances are, the meat is well-seasoned already.

But why don't you try some sushi or sashimi? In a lot of habachi restaurants, they prepare sushi in a separate place within the restaurant. You can still order it, though. But do be prepared for the habachi chef to throw some shrimp at you.

I don't think it can get healthier than raw fish, though opt for salmon instead of tuna or eel, which are fatty. Also, stay away from the sushi rolls with mayonnaise-based sauces (any of the "spicy" rolls)
Typically, these places use oil and butter to cook the food. You could request not to have yours cooked with butter or just very little. Aside from that, everything else is very healthy. How to eat healthier at a japanese restaurant?
Shrimp is NOT healthy. While it's lower in fat, it's got an astronomical cholesterol content.

I guess you can go w/ chicken then. Don't let them fry it in butter, and don't overdo the rice.
Your meal will undoubtedly be healthful: grilled chicken and shrimp with vegetables, rice -- ask for brown! -- miso soup, salad and green tea to drink.

Sounds good to me. Enjoy!
Get steamed rice instead of fried rice.

Have any sauces that come with your food served on the side, instead of cooking the food in it and then don't use them.
Eat Sushi and Sashimi !!!
