O.K. So, I'm 14 and I would really like to get a real job. Not one of those crappy jobs that your parents give you. But like a real job at a store or restaurant. Can someone please help? What kind of jobs can I get at age 14 and around the Pittsburgh area?
As Ryan stated above me - you can't get a bonafide job in PA until you're 15 1/2. At that point, you can get a Worker's Permit (you can apply for this at your high school).
Until then, your only means of making money is doing under-the-table work. That is, untaxable wages. For right now - the money's all in snow removal. Offer to shovel people's driveways/steps/sidewalks. In the warmer months, you can offer landscaping services - mowing grass, weeding gardens, and the like. If you're an animal lover, you could offer dog-walking services. If you like children, you can babysit.
Whatever you decide to do, start out with people that you know, to get yourself a reputation and some references. If you have people to back up your good work, you'll get many more looking to pay you some hard-earned money.
Good luck - don't spend it all in one place! (Okay, maybe once in awhile...=)What kind of jobs can I get at age 14 and around the Pittsburgh area?
Nobody's going to be able to find you a job unless you get paid illegally. In Pennsylvania, you have to be at least 15 1/2 to work. And if you are under 16 you must get signed permission from both your school and your parents.
