My husband and I are planning to visit Niagara Falls. How far is it from Buffalo Airport?

What activities should we consider? We are only staying for 3 days before we continue our trip to Pittsburgh.

Any recommendation for the hotels, restaurants, etc.?

Is it best to go on guided tour or is it easy enough to explore it on our own? Thank you so much for your answers. My husband and I are planning to visit Niagara Falls. How far is it from Buffalo Airport?
Attractions to do: Maid of the mist for absolute sure, check out the atrium fountain at the fallsview casino, clifton hill ( especially at night ), check out the falls at night when they light up, also fireworks over the falls on friday and sunday nights, i'm assuming your renting a car, if so drive up river road to check out the whirlpool and aerocar ( botanical garden, floral clock, butterfly conservatory, hydro dams and souvenir city are also on that drive ), Marineland ( Canada's seaworld if that's of interest ) The niagara Imax experience/niagara daredevils museum in the pyramid shaped building. You absolutely do not need guides or tour buses to enjoy niagara, secondly i wouldn't buy the niagara adventure packages ( just go on the maid of the mist - the journey behind the falls and the white water walk aren't worth it- you do the maid of the mist you'll experience niagara. As for restaurants there's a Canada Eh dinner theatre that's funny, the Ruby Tuesday's on clifton hill is great with a great patio/view, the secret garden restaurant/ oakes garden is beautiful ( where they shoot regis and kelly from in niagara ), If you want to eat cheaper drive out Lundy's Lane to the restaurants further away from the falls district.
Will you be getting a car? We usually stay at a hotel right across from the airport. Can't remember the name- has an indoor pool. You will be less than 45 min from the falls. Bring your birth cert/ passport and you can cross into Canada. Much better view. Maid of the mist is fun (boat tour). There are several information stands withinformation of the various touristy things to do. There is a casino on both sides of the falls also. Have fun!My husband and I are planning to visit Niagara Falls. How far is it from Buffalo Airport?
if i were you i would stay on the canada side of niagra falls. it is only about 15-20 min away from the airport. the whole area is easy to do on your own and i would recommend spending more time in canada. in buffalo there is a restraunt/bar called anchors that is claimed to be where buffalo wings started that is good. jim's steakout is good for fast food.other then that the big attraction in buffalo is night clubbing, in fact the bills stadium is in orchard park, ny which is on the other side of the airport in a small community. it is not a hassle to go over the peace bridge to canada just make sure u have ur id and birth certificate ready. i would recommend not eating at the planet hollywood there. you will be an hour from toronto... you just take the QEW expressway. fort erie in the canada side is good and interesting if u are a history buff. you can check out stuff online on the canadian side. there is a wax museum, horse carriage rides, and u can even take a ride over the falls. i personally think the american side is dirty but there is a new casino on the american side

if u are gonna take 1-90 to 79 to go to pitt a good stop is erie,pa. they have presquile isle which is tourist campgrounds but there is malls and restraunts to stop since its the mid point. there are also outlet stores in grove city on the way to pittsburgh.

hope you enjoy my section of the country!
