There are many very good restaurants in the Pittsburgh area. If you are looking for very good upscale dining my list is:
1. Mallorca - fantastic food with a spanish theme.
2. Monterey Bay Fish Grotto- excellent fresh seafood
3. Andora's - great crab cakes
4. La Monte - French and pricey
5. Grand Concourse - Built in an old railroad station - best Sunday brunch in town- incredible atmosphere. Make sure you stop in the attached Gandy Dancer bar.
6. Mantini's Woodfired - Steaks, Ribs, and Seafood. All cooked over a wood fire. The chef owner has won many BBQ championships.
7. Springfield Grill - great food at a very good value.
8. Franco's - upscale trendy located in Fox Chapel.
9. Carmody's - Wexford- classic old style supper club.
For more casual dining:
1. Primanti's ( home of the original Pittsburgh Sandwich)
2. North Park Lounge Group - several locations with very good food
3. Log Cabin Inn (Zelienople) great quality at a good price.
4. Rolands - located in the strip- good value Seafood. Good place to stop after shopping in the strip district.
Pittsburgh has a vast number of local family owned bar/grills. The Southside has them all along Carson Street.
What are some good restaurants in Pittsburgh? ?
Bandit mentioned the SouthSide in his post. He forgot to mention Folino's at 1719 E. Carson Street. Excellent food.
