I'll be in Mt. Washington-I've traveled through it, but never actually visited area. Any advice would be great.Pittsburgh?...I'm going there this weekend-any tips or advice on restaurants or shopping center?..?
Right below Mt Washington is Station Square. You can ride the incline down if you want. Station Square is full of excellent restaurants, as well as some shopping, bars and great clubs like Matrix.
Also right below Mt Washington, but just a little further east is the South Side. East Carson St. is just one massive strip of bars and restaurants. The main drag is pretty much between 10th St. and 30th St. on East Carson.
You should try to take in a baseball game while your at it too. PNC park is constantly called the greatest baseball stadium in the US. It's a wonderful experience, whether your a pirates fan or not.Pittsburgh?...I'm going there this weekend-any tips or advice on restaurants or shopping center?..?
I agree with everything Ryan said and would add the Strip District. It runs from roughly 14th Street to 31st Street and has a variety of shops, restaurants, and clubs. Saturday morning is best - there are tons of people on the sidewalk selling t-shirts and stuff.
If you go early, try to go to Deluca's for breakfast. It's a diner with great breakfast food.
Of course, Mount Washington has some AMAZING views of the city - there are lookout points where you can drink in the skyline. It really is pretty.
Have a great time in Pittsburgh!
