What are the best restaurants in Pittsburgh and why?Best Restaurant in Pittsburgh?
I have lived in L.A., Korea, Germany, Italy, Pittsburgh (currently) Cambridge, MA; and many others.
I like to get the local food, something that is done right, not something I can make at home. And not something that I can get anywhere else, i.e. Bennihana or Ruths Chris.
In Pittsburgh, I like that pierogie place in McKees Rocks. All the people (or most anyways) are from Russia, Poland, the Ukraine. And they sell the BEST home made pierogies. And combo plates that have kielbasa! So, not something that you will find in the Michelin guide, but an OUTSTANDING represenation of cuisine that is famous in the local area.
Also, Nicky's Thai on the North Shore. Really nicely done. Well seasoned. And last one, Sushi Kim's on the Strip for the weekend all you can eat meat buffet. Done over your own personal grill. Really realy good. Better than that one Brazilian all you can eat place in Myrtle Beach next to Broadwat at the Beach.
Lots of other places, but if anyone even mentions a chain place, with all the great local joints, just read it for laffs, realizing it is someone from the chain itself.
