You don't just have to answer these questions, all information is useful, Thanks. What is it like in Pittsburgh, PA?
Pittsburgh is a large enough city that it offers all of the basic amenities of a big city. HOWEVER, the people are much nicer then you usually find in big cities.
You will find the basic restaurants in pittsburgh. if you are interested in ethnic foods though, this is a great city to live in. you can find everything form ethiopian cuisine to indian to thai to spanish and everything in between. A lot of this isbecausee of the high concentration of college students (especially in the oakland area)
The weather can be slightly dreary. We have winters with not a lot of sun but on the other hand it makes the Spring so much better.
We are a big sports town, so if you are not a sports fan, you will at least pick up a few pointers about football and/or hockey. If you are a baseball fan and don't mind watching the Pirates lose a lot, you can get cheap tickets to see games.
The colleges provide a lot of activites for the students. They also tend to give you free busing so you can get anywhere in the city and they give you a free arts pass which will get you into any museum for free. And we have a lot of museums. From Andy Warhol to the Science Center to the Art museum, you can usually find one you like.
Theres also a lot of little art galleries and concerts that go on. Again, having a large student population means there is usally a vibrant social atmosphere as long as you know where to look.
