1.The International Club sold 300 lb of granola bars and collected $111. The peanut butter bars cost 40垄 per lb, and the chocolate chip costs 35垄 per lb. How many pounds of each type were sold?



2.Jeff Reed is the kicker for the Pittsburgh Steelers and is currently their top scorer. As a kicker, he can score two ways. A field goal is worth 3 points and the extra point after a touchdown is worth 1 point. Jeff has scored 37 points with 19 kicks. How many of his kicks were field goals, and how many were extra points?



3.Your family went to a restaurant for dinner. There are 6 people in your family. Some order the chicken dinner for $14.80 and some order the steak dinner for $17. If the total bill was $91, how many people ordered each type of dinner?



4.

The Carmike 14 Theatre charges $8 for an adult ticket and $4.50 for a child鈥檚 ticket. On a particular Friday night, the entire 950 seat theater was full. The total ticket receipts for the evening were $6462.50. How many of each type of ticket were sold?



5.

A landscaper planted some trees and bushes on a property. His first order was for 13 bushes and 4 trees and cost $487. The second order was for 6 bushes and 2 trees and cost $232. Find the price of each tree and bush.A litlle math help please?

a + b = 300



0.40a + 0.35(300-a) = $111

0.40a + 105 - 0.35a = $111

0.05a + 105 = $111

0.05a = 6

a = 120



0.40(120) + 0.35(300-120) = $111

0.40(120) + 0.35(180) =$111

48 + 63 = $111

111 = 111 so we know that's good



A = 120

B = 180



a + b = 300

120 + 180 = 300 so we also know that checks out too



You may want to plug those factors into the original equations to verify that they're accurate.
