I agree, the Steelers %26amp; the NFL should have a zero tolenrance policy when it comes to domestic violence. For those of you who do not know, yet, Cedric Wilson of the Pittsburgh Steelers was released yesterday (Thrus. 3-20) for assulting his estranged girlfriend at a restaurant. Dan Rooney, the owner of the Steeler's made this comment: "It shouldn't happen. Football players shouldn't go around punching girls."
However, this similar type of incident happened not long ago, but this player, James Harrison (linebacker) is still on the team. Why?
While both men are charged for striking their girlfriends in domestic violence cases, Rooney said Harrison's case was different, because he wanted to take his son to get baptized.
Rooney said, "What he was trying to do was really well worth it … He was doing something that was good … She didn't want to do it."
I'm appaled!!!! What do you think?Cedric Wilson released from the Steelers, but it's okay for some players to do the same thing!??
i think that the reason why they kept harrison and cut wilson is probably because of their character. what harrison did was wrong, but it was spur of the moment anger. he could actually be a good guy. but wilson had repeated acts of hurting his ex. so the rooneys based it off of that. and the dan rooney is a hall of famer, he knows what he's doing.
Sounds like they could afford Harrison's salary better than Wilson's.Cedric Wilson released from the Steelers, but it's okay for some players to do the same thing!??
They should both be castrated, you don't lay your hands on a female, especially if your a football player sized guy.
yeah, and randy moss too. was this guy convicted or just charged?
booted for 2 years no exceptions then let them find a team
The Steelers take things on a CASE BY CASE BASIS. That is what we should ALL do. Do you know the FULL details of Harrison? NO, so you need to stop worrying about it. I don't know the full details either, but I DO trust the Rooney's judgment. They have dealt with problems in the past in the way they felt was correct, so I think they probably have the idea this time. Also in case anyone thinks this has to do with Harrison being a starter then I remind you of Bam Morris. He was the starting running back when they went to Superbowl XXX. Well technically a split starter, but was the starting power back. He got busted on Marijuana possession and as soon as he plead guilty he was cut. I'm sure there is more to the Harrison thing then you are considering. That may not make it right, but it may be more justifiable then you are giving it credit for.
are u serious cmon people. the steelers let cedric go because he wasn't a good player %26amp; the steelers thought they could find someone else that could play bettewr than he did. any nfl team will keep a player that can help them win if he is in legal trouble. believe me. its all about winning. if a player got into trouble %26amp; if he was a marginal player he gets cut. simple as that. in the case of michael vick the owner of the falcons knew he was trouble before they drafted him but they thought they could keep it under wraps while michael was making him all kinds of money. when michael had outlived his purpose he was cut %26amp; the owner was made to look like the kid that always gets picked on. believe what u see nothing u hear
